Show You Care

hasten out the old

in with the new

keeping sights in

a broadened view

time can warp a mind

into worrisome channels

dimming the lights at

the end of the tunnels

let us grow older

and not confused

let us be useful

without being used

thoughts of aging

may be quite a scare

can’t wait too long

to show we care

nary a moment in

a life we can spare

   “Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.”― Henri Nouwen
