Show You Care

Let’s not hasten out with the old and in with new

We must keep our sights in a broadened view

Time can warp a mind into worrisome channels

Dimming the lights at the end of the tunnels

Please let us grow older without being confused

And, let us be useful without being used

The process of aging can be quite a scare

If we wait too long to show we care

Nary a moment in life we can spare

“Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.”― Henri Nouwen
