“Not everything that is faced can be changed,  but nothing can be changed until faced.”- James Baldwin

We can’t change the color of the sky

We can’t change the color of the sun

We can’t change the color of the moon

We can’t change everything we see

But it’s how we perceive

what we see, and

It’s what we perceive

how we see?

If we believe what we perceive

and perceive what we believe, then

Can we change everything we see?

Beautiful! We can manage only our responses, not alter reality.

An excellent sentiment beautifully wrought. Change is a huge word and but alteration is much more docile. If we alter our perception and our instant responses we have some chance of bringing the permanent change that might be required.

Your poem reminds me of the Four Agreements – a person can change their life by not agreeing to another persons perspective.
