Life’s Path

Life can be full of hard knocks

Do we dare to tread

on life’s delicate threads, or

Do we avoid being worn

so as not to be torn

Is life like a pair of socks?

  1. I hope life isn’t like a pair of socks Eugenia. I never have a pair that matches. Enjoyed the poem and the depth of the message it paints.

Maybe life IS like socks, Eugenia – still warm and useful even when its matching sock has long since disappeared – well worth hanging on to as long as we don’t get too attached to things showing up exactly like we expect. Thanks for sharing this wonderful reflection prompt today. Loved the quote, btw.

    1. I like your perspective on hanging onto the one sock and perhaps its mate will show up when you least expect it. 🙂 I’m glad you liked the quote.

      1. Off topic, but I love my years of mate-less socks. I use them when packing (slip glasses inside), slipping over my hands for quickie dusting, under boots, and whenever my feet are cold and I need to do the laundry.

  3. We have to keep walking what ever obstacles are in front of us.. And I have worn out many a pair of socks.. 🙂 from climbing.. 🙂
Love to you and a meaningful poem.. xxx

  4. Life is more like a pair of shoes. I, and my shoes carry each other. Shoes (life) can enable incredibly smooth walking, or pinch to create blisters and bruises.
