Dear Mister Moon

My friend mister moon

Your presence is treasured

You radiate such pleasure

My mind quiet while I sleep

You’ll hear nary a peep

Just knowing you’re near

I see no reason for fear

My friend mister moon

There’ll be times I swoon

As you light up the sky

That’s a natural high

Perhaps crazed and dazed

and yes, a bit crazy

But mister moon the time is nigh

There’s reason to know why

What made the cow jump so high

Please stop in and visit my other blog, BrewNSpew and have a cuppa at the Tuesday Chatter Cafe.

The use of ‘Mister’ sparked many reflections. The Moon has intermittently been treated as male or female, by poets. A beautiful woman is equated to the Moon. But, in a romantic situation, the Moon is male, and moonlight is female — perhaps the mindset of treating women as reflection of a man.Not to forget that the Moon itself emits reflected light.

Thank you for your delightful input, Reena. I have always been fascinated by the moon. It is a source of mystery and beauty, IMO.
