Going My Way

I love to lead a parade!

I walk to a different beat than some

Impatiently I wait for music to come

Soon the om pah will grace my ears

Delighting the crowd smothered in cheers

I love to lead a parade!

I sing a different tune than most

But naught a reason to brag or boast

I sense a rumble in the ground

I adore the sound! It’s enough to astound

I love to lead a parade!

I’m a bit different you know

Impatiently I wait to stun and show

Unfolding streets in a steady flow

I love to lead a parade!

I walk and talk a different game

Perhaps to you, it’s all the same

To me, it’s living in moments of fame

I love to lead a parade

I’m a solo act in my own charade

Very entertaining, Eugenia, with the twist at the end. I wondered where your parade was leading me. 🙂

I’m more than willing to chance being spun or bruised,
    in the event, for all my meanderings, I get refused;
knowing full well, if off-the-cuff request approved,
    I will need references…
