The Tree

peering through the windowpane

I see a stately and glorious tree

long slender branches stretch

she protects from sky to sea

I rise with the morning sun

shining through dainty leaves

long slender branches stretch

her spirit so lofty and free

golden leaves rustle in the wind

she sways from side to side

long slender branches stretch

as I sip my coffee, we chat frequently

peering through the windowpane

I see a stately and glorious tree

long slender branches stretch

why she’s reaching out to me!
