And so it goes…

the beat goes on,

an insipid song,

a sing-a-long, with

a sarcastic font.

oh, the hoi polloi

can’t let the chinwag sag

rollin’ of the social dice.

too many lives copy/paste

population ups day by day

Gaia huffin’ and puffin’

mom nature in a tither

hapless sheeple taking selfies

not all the world loves a clown

hey, hey, what’s that sound

feeling nervous, what’s goin’ round

standing on the edge of time

let’s clink cups as we sup

gone the glory, gone the days

same as it ever was

same as it ever was,

blowing in the wind

  1. Love your quotes! It’s so easy to get caught up in clicks and likes, harder to make change.

  2. Oh my, the humourous terms used seriously makes this an outstanding poem. Those phrases are amazing Eugi.😍

  3. Oh, I love your trip back to the 1960s and 70s. The songs of the folk era had so much truth in them. What ever happened to that spirit in music? You poem shares the feeling of this unsettled time so well!

  4. This was inspired!! I love the word “sheeple”. It will no doubt become part of the urban dictionary .. if not, it should! All those unmasked, elbow to elbow sheeple worshiping at the feet of their false idol…. let us hope they don’t find their way to the polls.
