Just sent a text
to Santa asking what
does he want for Christmas?
You know, he’s always
been a charming and
jovial gent.
Hard-working too!
To keep the elves
from slacking is
hard work – just sayin’.
Plus, the reindeer need
tending and then there’s
always sleigh maintenance
due to high mileage.
It’s a never-ending gig
for poor Santa, but
according to him,
the rewards are many.
He’s quite well-traveled,
been to the moon and back
more than he can count.
Speaks ho ho ho in
numerous languages.
Of course, most fulfilling
is the act of giving
and caring.
So, I queried Santa –
what does he want for
Christmas in 2021?
I expected a lengthy
list like a new Santa
suit and hat, more cookies
and milk at his stops,
perhaps some nog
with a nip, or maybe
even a new GPS!
But hear this, my friends!
He replied “I want goodwill
and world peace”.
I smiled and
I thought to myself
only if…
“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”-Calvin Coolidge

Your site Eugenia is one of beauty as I revisit your beautiful blog and feel right at home among your wonderful offerings ..
Indeed, if only the gifts of thankfulness of giving and compassion, of care and respect, of tolerance and kindness were gift wrapped within each human soul every day of the year.. Instead of only being unwrapped for a short period of time in this special season..
I have a feeling we all may be needing to look at those internal gifts we need to unwrap now upon Humanity as we share out the Love and Joy of what it is to be Human and share our open hearts..
Much love dear friend.. Love and Blessings… ❤

Eugenia,
Excellent quote and so true! I loved the poem! Santa’s wish list is the hardest of all Christmas presents for him to leave. That must come from within each person, so if everyone looked within to bring forth those redeeming qualities then this world would change for the better. Thanks!
