  1. My husband and I drove the Blueridge Parkway once. It had to be one of the prettiest places in the world.

  2. Obviously it must be called ‘The Blue Ridge’ – yes! But – I do have a feeling that it will need a different name
in the spring or perhaps in the fall? 🙂

    • Here is the explanation for the name Blue Ridge –

The distinctive color that gives the Blue Ridge Mountains their name largely comes from the forests that line its ridges (which reach elevations up to 6,684 feet). Many shrubs and trees– including oaks, poplars, and eucalyptus– emit an organic compound called isoprene. When this hydrocarbon is released into the atmosphere, it creates a distinctive lingering haze that looks blue from a distance. Info derived from https://blueridgemountainstravelguide.com.

Driving or hiking through the Blue Ridge Mountains, where all is up close, the landscape takes on the colors of the current season.

  3. I’d love to do a long West Coast drive from San Diego to Vancouver. Not sure it’s even possible.

    • That would be quite a trip and I imagine you would love it! When we lived in Florida, Blue Ridge was a long drive for us but now we live only an hour away. I would love to live there but the homes are crazy expensive.

  4. Your picture of the mountains is beautiful. It does look peaceful.

  5. Your opening image is stunning! Thank you. I like travel – and actually did a beach walk about Travel. I invite your readers to stop by. https://beachwalkreflections.wordpress.com/2021/02/27/47-travel/

    • Thank you, Frank! I am on my way to your site! Yes, this was and still is a beautiful post, Frank. Funny, we just spoke with the gentlemen in my last picture today. He owns a pub in Blue Ridge. We miss our friends and hopefully will be able to visit there soon.

  6. I just got back from an adventure!!
Woods, ocean, beach… backyard. They’re all good. 😉

  7. Another beautiful & lyrical poem Eugi <3
