free as a bird

wind in my hair

no matter the rain

or the dusty roads

speed demon me

queen of the road

or so I thought

fell down, got up

spent hours on end

riding my bike

with nowhere to go

Today’s a great day to blog, and the Bloganuary prompt is:

What was your favorite toy as a child?

  1. I didn’t learn to ride until I was older. And then when I finally found a route to a friends’ house that I could bike to – we moved (again).

I ended up writing about books. 😀

      1. Reading and writing, anything at that time to be left alone and ignored. Safer that way.
Kind of like Victorian times – children (some of them anyway) were to be seen and not heard.

But I’ve also had my share of physical scrapes. 😉

      2. I was a pretty quiet child (voice wise) but full of energy. I had to always be on the go and had a hard time sitting and reading. I read only what was expected. Later on when I worked, my role was to interpret insurance policies so I got my share of reading. I enjoyed it because it was like a puzzle together.

Double love love love your poem Eugi…..I felt 15 again reading it. I used to have an old CCM back in the early 70’s. Her name was Big Blue Bolt and she was so great! I rode her to school & everywhere! What freedom!
Thanx for such a good poem with such a good memory!
