ethics mold our core being
our well-founded standards
embrace morals and values
and not follow one’s feelings
nor “what society accepts”

Good point that ethics does not follow one’s feelings nor what society accepts. It has a deeper ground. I like the quote from Peter Stewart.

Thank you, Frank! I like the quote, as well. It’s straight to the point.

Reminds me of taking a philosophy course on ethics back in my college days. A fascinating (and important!) course of study.

Feelings are wonderful but ya can’t always act on them or your feelings could get you in trouble and acceptance by society seems like every thing to a lot of people but I could care less. I prefer to stay true to myself, know what to do and when to do it, instead of acting on feelings 100% of the time. You pack a lot of thought-provoking, common sense in so few words – excellently done! 👍

True, everyone has different ethics but they should be driven by “the right thing to do”. ❤️

💜 It’s ,”True” that “the right thing to do” is YOUR!!! “ethic” and Others may THINK!!! differently or agree or couldn’t give a fuck; for example My Deceased Dad Brutally Beat (basically Criminal Assault) My Siblings and I in The Name of Discipline “”the right thing to do”” so I AM Very Grateful 🙏🏿 that He is Dead and Forgiven for DOING THE RIGHT THING IN THE WRONG WAY!!! Rant Over

I am sorry this happened to you and your siblings. You make a very good point. The “right thing to do” in your case, was done in the wrong way. 🙏❤️
