Harken, my dears
as Christmastime nears
Noels and festive cheer
splendid, just splendid
this time of the year
nog and cookies by the fire
while dreaming of my desires
splendid, just splendid
Santa dear
family and friends
by the hearth they lend
chatter and kindness
troubles behind us
splendid, just splendid
this time of the year
scents delicious savory
we inhale favorably
a feast made with love
givings to be proud of
presents neath the tree
just for you and for me
Oh, Santa dear
my heart’s so weary
it’s you I must query
think upon Christmas cheer
why only once a year?
the spirit of Christmas
joyous moments forevermore
splendid, just splendid
this time of the year.
