I wonder how crows have always been attributed with supernatural powers. Hindus see them as representatives of their ancestors, and feed them with devotion.

They are interesting and from what I read via livescience.com, they are extremely intelligent birds and known for their problem-solving skills. Research shows they don’t forget a face and teach other crows how to identify the human. A group of crows is called a murder. When one crow dies, the murder will surround the deceased. They gather together to see who killed their member. The murder then bands together and chase the predator which is called mobbing.
So, with all that said, best to be nice to crows. caw caw

It is not uncommon for duck hunters to place crow decoys on tree limbs, in plain site of a body of water, that has duck decoys. The theory behind this is, if the ducks see the “crows” sitting calm, there will be no cause for alarm. Other hunters use owl decoys for the same reason.

Crows seem to carry some significance across cultures. I thought their gathering meant someone was going to pass on. But maybe it’s like you said in the comments..one of their own died. Interesting. Nice post.

Crows are very interesting. Supposedly they can foresee the future so it’s possible they gather if someone is going to pass on. There are many articles about them and it’s very interesting reading. Thank you, Pat.

Thank you, Cheryl. We see crows, hawks, and even owls where we live. There is a wooded area next to our building and that is probably where they live.

I like black birds and crows.
I sometimes would like to imagine that any bird on a wire can hear the conversations within 😉

Interesting thought, Jules. Who knows maybe they can! 😬

When the crows start entering the conversation… then we can worry 😉
