as our voices rise
a wavelength of despair
hums of burdens thrust
mankind ungathered
tranced in hypnotic ideation
woeful eyes swell with tears
the last stanza sung –
soul-to-soul self-seeking
crow with the dawn
rejoice in truths of
love and kindness
as our voices rise
wedded are we unconsumed
from sunrise to sunset
Reena’s Xploration Challenge #272

What do you see # 177 – 13 March, 2023

“ Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy or boast. It’s not proud, rude, or self-seeking. It is not easily angered and keeps no record of past mistakes. It does not delight in evil. It rejoices in the truth”

Eugi Eugi Eugi!!!
This poem is SO-O deep & so meaningful….I could relate to every word….
You captured how I (& I suspect many of us) feel about this time in History as things spiral out of control.

May our blind eye open to become witnesses for the good of all living things –
Human and other…
Indeed!
🙂
Acting in the now, we have a purpose to fulfill.
Eugenia, your lovely poem reminds us of the passing of time, and the concluding lines are somehow so satisfying. Each new day arrives with its promise and opportunities. <3
“Turn, Turn, Turn” is a favorite from my high school days.
Thank you, Cheryl, and I’m glad you could relate to the song. 💖
[…] Wakeup call […]
That poem certainly is a wake up call
As was intended. Thank you, Derrick.
I stopped at ‘last stanza sung’
Then the intensity of the last two lines brought in a sense of despair.
Thank you, Reena! A sign of the times but there is still hope.
“wavelength of despair” & “tranced in hypnotic ideation”, brilliant lines Eugi! 👌👌👏👏😁😁
Thank you so much, Ken! 💖
If only, it’s true, that the sunrise can, bring about that needed change for a brand new day in this world, but, it, really, doesn’t, because, we humans are, too set in our ways, and we refuse, to, change…but, we can, still, hope, so…
Yes, sometimes we don’t appreciate the beauty around us because we are too busy with ourselves.
Well done. And I love that song. XO
Thank you, Ellen! XO
