IMO, big ego = lack of confidence
“Make your ego porous. Will is of little importance, complaining is nothing, fame is nothing. Openness, patience, receptivity, solitude is everything.”
― Rainer Maria Rilke
it’s my blog thus my perspective
“What people in the world think of you is really none of your business.”
― Martha Graham
poetry is my voice
interpretation is decided by the reader
“The value of any written work should not simply be judged on the words that can be read. It should also be judged on the memories it leaves in the heart.”
― Daniel Kemp
“Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”
― C.S. Lewis
lullaby and good night
thank you mom for lulling me to sleep
“Hush-a-bye baby in the tree top, when the wind blows the cradle will rock, when the bough breaks the cradle will fall, and down will come baby, cradle and all.
Momma will catch you, give you a squeeze, send you back up to play in the trees, when twilight falls and birds seek their nests, come home to the one who loves you the best.”
― Eloisa James
no book in a nook
a wide screen and a comfy chair for me
“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.”
― Charles W. Eliot
“One thing that keeps us from excellence is distractions”
― Malcolm Lewis
“I finished the [blog] post reflecting on the fact that, despite all the changes in my life, maybe I wasn’t so different after all. If I typed it, maybe I could believe it, too.”
― Stephanie Nielson
downsides to blogging‽
“An aspiring writer should write one time and edit ten times.”
― Amit Kalantri
Have a great day!
Do you think it helps or hinders a writer from having a big ego?
How often do you read your blog content from an outsider’s perspective?
I view my blog as an allotment garden. How do you view yours?
What’s the first book you ever remember reading way back when?
Were you ever read to as a child, and by whom?
Where do you like to read? At home on the couch? Whilst travelling? In bed? Where?
What are the most significant barriers to your creativity?
Do you think blogging is essential, and if you do, why?
There are many benefits to blogging; however, what are the three top downsides of blogging, in your opinion?

Listen twice as much as you speak, since you have two ears and only one mouth…
Edit…for small verse I only edit as I go. I might change small things to a story… but once I write something it is free to be what it wants 😉

I love your quote, Jules. I edit as I go, well, and then give it one more look. It is what it is.

That quote about ears and mouth – it is a hymn… I learned years ago. But I looked it up – it is older than I thought 😉
“We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.”

love the quotes and these are great questions posed Eugi. Of course blogging is essential. It’s our food, shelter and substance to make our lives brighter.. for me anyway.
Except it can be like any other addiction and down the tubes you go on a device all day.
DON’T let that happen to you!
hahaha. xo 💞

Thank you, Cindy! I spend way too much time blogging! I try to organize it so it is not time-consuming but then I get another idea.

Darlin’,
I loved your responses using quotes to the questions posed. What a wonderful idea! I’m not near as clever to come up with enough quotes to do this but I really loved the way you handle the Q&A. Speaking of which are these questions meant for others to borrow and use? If so, then I might consider using them at some point. 🙂 By the way, the snail image is fun and whimsical. Have a good weekend, my dear!

Hey Eugenia, an intriguingly great answer to the first question, nicely said, also my view. I think l may have worded the second question wrong, but good answer. I do write once and edit many times after that too 🙂
Good answers all 🙂
